ALD acquisition of LeasePlan gets green light 

ALD Automotive, the French fleet managing and car leasing company, which is majority owned by Société Générale, has overcome its final regulatory approval to acquire LeasePlan, one of the world’s biggest fleet management and mobility companies. According to the details, ALD paid €4.8bn in cash and shares in an acquisition that positions the combined group as the leading global sustainable mobility player with a total fleet of 3.3m vehicles managed worldwide.

Volkswagen FS in tie-up with Oracle 

Volkswagen Financial Services (VWFS) has migrated most of its databases to the cloud under a multi-year collaboration with IT provider Oracle. Oracle said its Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer platform will enable VWFS to modernise its database technologies “to support and scale mission-critical systems supporting the company’s European operations while retaining control of its data governance and meeting data security and locality regulations.”

Experian tie-up with CarCloud will drive car financing deals 

Experian, a credit data company, and CarCloud, a digital car management platform, have announced a new partnership that aims to enhance the car ownership experience for drivers. Under the arrangement, CarCloud users can check their eligibility for new car finance deals without this process affecting their credit score.

Volta Trucks partners with NEoT Green Mobility 

Volta Trucks, an electric commercial vehicle manufacturer and services provider, has partnered with NEoT Green Mobility to develop customer funding to offer operating lease financing for up to 2,000 trucks from 2023. The funding will enable Volta Trucks to offer customers financing for the all-electric Volta Zero through the company’s Truck as a Service programme.
