VWFS Fleet in tie-up with uniform provider 

CLEAN Linen & Workwear, a UK-based uniforms, linen, and textile rental laundry services provider, has found a strategic partner in Volkswagen Financial Services (VWFS) Fleet. Amidst concerns over vehicle lead times and rising fleet maintenance costs, CLEAN turned to VWFS Fleet for a logistics solution. Halfords and Redde Northgate in talks over £1.3bn merger 

Reports from both The Telegraph and The Times have emerged suggesting that a potential merger between Halfords and van hire firm Redde Northgate, aiming to create a conglomerate worth over £1.3 billion, is currently on hold due to disagreements over pricing. The Telegraph, citing a City source, revealed that Redde Northgate had initially proposed a nil-premium merger. However, discussions reached an impasse as the two companies failed to align on valuation terms.

Richard Hardie sign one-year remarketing deal with BCA

Richard Hardie, the North-East based dealer group, has agreed an exclusive one-year remarketing deal with BCA. Richard Hardie has been serving new and used car customers in the North-East for five decades with dealerships in Sunderland, Ashington and Silverlink, Wallsend operating franchises for MG, Fiat & Abarth. Richard Hardie will offer around 500 vehicles over the duration of the deal, with sales staged twice weekly via the BCA Online sales programme.

Amazon in tie-up with Hyundai to sell cars in the US 

Amazon and South Korean auto manufacturer Hyundai have agreed to begin selling vehicles in the US in 2024. Hyundai will work with Amazon Web Services (AWS) as its preferred cloud provider and will involve the Alexa built-in experience into Hyundai’s vehicles. In 2024, auto dealers for the first time will be able to sell vehicles in Amazon’s US store, and Hyundai will be the first brand available for customers to purchase.
